SAT Math tutoring · One-to-one and group courses

Learn from an SAT Math tutor who scored a perfect 800

On the Digital SAT, the method you choose matters as much as the math you know.

Many students know more math than their score shows. They lose time choosing a method, repeat the same few mistakes, or run short in the second module. I look at how you work, find what repeats, and give you a clear plan for what to work on.

Live on Zoom. Students at any level may apply, including first-time test takers.

How I teach SAT Math

I am a math teacher. I scored 800 on the Digital SAT Math section, and I also teach AP Calculus and AP Statistics. In lessons, we work through questions together, and you learn when algebra is quicker and when Desmos is.

What goes into each lesson

In a lesson, you see the explanations. Behind them are decisions about what to work on, in what order, and why.

01 Method

Choosing between algebra and Desmos

Many questions can be solved both ways, and one way is usually faster. You learn to see which one in a few seconds.

02 Mistakes

Finding what repeats

I label each mistake as content, method, algebra, misreading or time. After a few weeks, you can see which type keeps coming back, and we work on that.

03 Timing

Practice under real timing

You work in timed sets and full practice tests in Bluebook. We review them together, so your speed comes from good decisions, not from rushing.

04 Between lessons

The plan moves with your results

I choose your practice, review it, and adjust the plan as your results change.

What lessons include

  • A full practice test in Bluebook early on, so we both see where you stand.
  • A written plan once you decide to continue.
  • 55-minute live lessons on Zoom, written by hand on an iPad.
  • Practice between lessons, with original questions I write.
  • Lesson notes as PDFs you can open at any time, including after your lessons end.
  • Short updates for parents by email, as a message or a PDF summary.

If you are not sure which suits you, apply and describe your situation. I will recommend one.

How it works

  1. Apply. Tell me your test date and what feels hardest. I read each application myself and reply by email with my recommendation and the rate.

  2. First lesson. You pay for the first lesson before it takes place. I look at how you work through questions and where you slow down.

  3. Your decision. After the first lesson, you decide whether to continue. If you do, I send a written plan, and you pay for it in full.

  4. Regular lessons. You practice between lessons, and I review your work before we meet.

Who this is for

Students who get the most out of lessons:

  • They practice between lessons.
  • They have a test date in mind.
  • They want to understand why a method works, not only the steps.
  • Parents and students agree on the plan.

I teach every lesson myself, so I work with a limited number of students at a time.

Common questions

Who will teach me?

I do, in every lesson and every group session. I do not hire other tutors.

Do you guarantee a score?

No. I cannot promise a score. I promise careful teaching, regular feedback and a clear plan.

How do lessons work?

Lessons are 55 minutes, live on Zoom. Between lessons, you practice with a set I choose for you. Your notes are saved as PDFs, and you can open them at any time.

Do you teach Reading and Writing?

No. I teach Math only.

What do lessons cost?

The rate depends on your plan, so I quote it privately by email after I read your application. You pay for the first lesson before it takes place. If you continue, you pay for the plan in full. Payments are not refundable.
